Ahmed El Fishawy Sentenced to One Year in Prison

The Dokki Misdemeanor Court sentenced Tuesday Egyptian actor Ahmed el-Fishawy to one year in prison.

Shaaban Said, the lawyer of the actor's daughter, Lina revealed that the ruling comes after he obstructed execution, evaded execution, smuggled his money abroad, as well as refusing to pay it.

The Court has also ordered a bail of EGP 2000 and a fine of EGP 500 and obliged him to EGP 20K for compensation and another 50K for the attorneys and other expenses.

The ruling comes as a result of El Fishawy’s failure to provide the provisions of expenses and wages to his daughter.

The actor was also sentenced to one month in prison in 2019 for refraining from providing the expenses of his daughter.

The Khalifa family court ruled against El Fishawy after his ex-wife Hend el-Hennawy filed a lawsuit number 86 against him for refraining from paying alimony in favor of his daughter Lina, estimated at LE 234,600.

The court issued a one month sentence against the actor, especially after presenting documents proving his ability to pay the alimony was presented by Said.

Hennawy’s lawyer revealed that the verdict against El Fishawy is enforceable and cannot be appealed, and in the event of his arrest he would be obliged to serve his sentence or pay alimony to his daughter.

Moreover, a court ruling was also issued in November 2019 to annul a decision banning Lina from traveling.

It is worth mentioning that the family feud in the courts has started long before Lina was born, and did not stop until her early teens, which had certainly left an impact on Lina.

Lina had sparked controversy last year after posting bold pictures of herself, which she considered, freedom of expression.

El-Fishawy faces many criticisms for his indifferent attitude towards his daughter and his ongoing judicial battles with his ex-wife.

He was also severely criticized for celebrating a few days ago on the birthday of Lillian, the daughter of his current wife, Nadia al-Kamel.

El-Fishawy appeared in pictures and videos with Lillian as they celebrated her birthday with parental emotion incompatible to his flesh and blood.
