Ahmed Diab, President of the Egyptian Clubs Association, confirmed that tomorrow’s match between Al-Ahly and Zamalek was canceled after Zamalek sent an official letter confirming its withdrawal from the match, and accordingly Al-Ahly was notified not to go to play the match tomorrow and was considered a winner with a score of 2/0.
Diab said, during special statements to “The Seventh Day”: The 128th summit tomorrow will not be played after we informed Zamalek not to play the match officially, and according to that, the Al-Ahly team and the referees’ crew will not go to Cairo Stadium, and Al-Ahly is considered a winner with a score of 2/0 and Zamalek is defeated, with Another 3 points will be deducted from the White Team’s balance at the end of the current season.
The Zamalek Club announced, in an official statement, that it will not play the Al-Ahly match scheduled for seven o’clock tomorrow evening, Tuesday, at Cairo International Stadium. The text of the statement came as follows:
“The club’s management confirms that it knows very well that the great Zamalek fans always love the moments when the football team plays, and it also knows that fair competition has consistently been its motto for more than a century, but compelling circumstances prevent it from doing so in the scheduled league match. It will be held tomorrow, due to the absence of the principle of equal opportunities established by the rules and principles of football.
The administration pledges to return to honorable football competitions in our league in the near future, which we revere and respect, and we value the efforts of all parties that support the football industry in Egypt, and indeed we wished that we would never be absent from the stadiums.
We are sorry that we only have this decision, and thank you for the fans’ understanding and non-stop support.”
