Sad news for Ahmed Dawood and Welad Rizk fans: the actor will not return for the long-awaited third outing in the franchise, titled, "Welad Rizk 3: El Qadya" (Sons of Rizk 3: The knockout).
Dawood confirmed the ongoing speculations about his return to the franchise.
The actor noted he "Tried very well to return" however he couldn't, due to his other obligations to the TV series "Zeinhom" and the film "Al Hawa Sultan".
The threequel is currently underway in Riyadh, where the majority of the scenes will be shot and held under the support of the Entertainment Authority.
The film is held during the historical match "Battle of the Baddest" between WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou, a heavyweight professional crossover boxing match that took place on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It sees the boys kidnapping a champion after they follow him after the event.
The threequel's estimated budget is around $8 million ( EGP 250 million).
"Welad Rizk" first premiered in 2015 and hails from screenwriter Salah El Gehiny and director Tarek Al Eryan.
The film features an all-star ensemble cast that includes Ahmed Ezz, Amr Youssef, Karim Qassem, Mohamed Mamdouh, and Ahmed El Fishawy.
It also features Eyad Nasser returning for the film as well as features Maged El Kedwany making a cameo appearance.
Sayed Ragab will also reprise his role as Ma'alem Sakr as well as Asser Yassin is set to reappear as Al Shayeb in the installment and will have more screen time for the character in preparation for the "Welad Rizk" spin-off film "Al Shayeb" (The King).
The film was first announced in 2019 in the post-credit scene of "Welad Rizk 2".
"Welad Rizk 3" is set to premiere in the cinemas during the Eid al-Adha movie marathon.
