The British singer, Adele swiftly made her way to the top of the UK music charts on Friday with her new album "30"; making triumphant and record-breaking return.
One of the world's best singer and songwriter, the Grammy award winner released her fourth album "30" last week. Critics and fans were praising her for her honesty in her songs, which she explains her porce with her son, Angelo.
The Official Charts Company said that first week sales for album "30" totaled 261 thousand in the biggest opening week of the year so far.
This number of sales is the biggest for an album since Ed Sheeran's "Divide" in 2017 and the biggest for a female solo album since Adele's last record, "25" in 2015.
"It becomes Adele's fourth UK number 1 album, so she now has reached number 1 on the Official Albums chart with all of the studio albums. That's a record for a female solo singer," the Official Charts Company stated.
"All Adele's previous albums are also present in the chart this week; 25 is (number 15), 21 (number 18), and 19 (number 31)," The company added.
The company also said; "Album 30 was also the most streamed album this past week, recording 55.7 million plays across its 12 songs."
Like her previous albums, Album "30" symbolizes an important age stage in her life. She announced her separation with her husband Simon Konecki in 2019.
