Much to the upset of her fans, Adele has confirmed she’s preparing to take a hard-earned break.
As the Grammy Award winner wrapped up her Munich residency on Saturday, Adele announced that following her upcoming Las Vegas return, she will take an indefinite hiatus from performing.
“But after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart,” she said in a TikTok clip from the show.
The announcement is ahead of her return to the ‘Weekends with Adele‘ Las Vegas residency, from October 25 to November 23. Two years into the ongoing residency, Adele said in July that she plans to take a break after the upcoming run of shows.
“I don’t have any plans for new music at all,” she told Germany’s ZDF public broadcast service. “I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
Adele — who dropped her last album "30" in 2021 — kicked off her Munich residency in early August, performing two shows a week. The venue also featured Adele World, an outside experience for ticket holders with a Ferris wheel, an authentic English pub, and an ‘I Drink Wine’ bar.
Earlier in the residency, she announced her engagement to sports agent Rich Paul while responding to a fan’s “marry me” sign. “I can’t marry you – because I’m already getting married!” she said during her August 9 show.
