Egyptian actress Jala Fahmy died of a heart attack at the age of 59.
The actress' brother Mostafa Fahmy, announced Saturday the news on Facebook without revealing further details.
The late actress was born on November 6, 1962, into an artistic family. She was the daughter of the director Ashraf Fahmy.
Fahmy began her career at the age of twelve taking part in a radio and television program along with acting.
In 1986, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English and resumed her career in radio with the program "Tales of Rawiya and Fikri", then pursued acting.
The actress is best known for her roles in films such as "Banat fi Wurta", "TaTa' wa Reeka wa Kazem Bey", "Gala Gala ", "Kalam El Leil", and "Awel Mara Teheb ya Alby".
Fahmy is also known for her roles in the TV series A"Layali Al-Hilmiah" and "Al-Wasiyah".
