Academy of Arts Hosts Russia's GITIS Workshops

The renowned Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS), in partnership with Rossotrudnichestvo, launches the “Russian Theatre School” for students of the Academy of Arts in Cairo.

Running from April 20 to 24, the program offers the students a rare opportunity to immerse themselves in the celebrated Stanislavsky System—the foundation of modern acting techniques worldwide.

Over five days, participants will take part in hands-on workshops in acting, directing for both drama and musical theatre, and the art of stage make-up.

Leading the masterclasses are GITIS faculty members:

● Evgenia Malinkovskaya, Acting Head of the Make-up Art Department, member of the Cinematographers Union, and professional make-up artist.

● Ekaterina Petrova-Verbich, Senior Lecturer in the Sound Drama Department, acting instructor, director, and screenwriter.

● Elizaveta Shakhova, instructor of acting and directing, and accomplished theatre and opera director.

The Russian Theatre School is one of Rossotrudnichestvo’s flagship international initiatives, designed to promote Russian culture and foster cross-cultural exchange in theatre arts. Organizers seek to pique Egyptian students' interest in Russian history, literature, and the performing arts.
