MP Mohamed Aboul Enein has stressed that Egypt's initiative to end the crisis in Libya which has been proposed under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, is a comprehensive road map for the path of a political and peaceful solution to the Libyan crisis.
In his word before the parliament's plenary session, Aboul Enein pointed out that the Egyptian initiative came after all international attempts to solve the Libyan crisis had failed.
"What happened yesterday is a message to the whole world about the importance to end the suffering of the Libyan people, and to confront all colonial ambitions and the terrorist militias," he added.
Moreover, the lawmaker affirmed that President El-Sisi's initiative stems from Egypt's steadfast keenness to achieve security and political stability in Libya, considering that Libya's security is an integral part of Egypt's national security, in addition to the impact of current Libyan situation repercussions on the regional and international arenas.
In addition, Aboul Enien called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and support the Cairo Declaration to resolve the Libyan crisis, remove the mercenaries and terrorists from its territories, and help the national army to extend control over all Libyan soil.
The MP added that the Egyptian initiative represents the last chance for a political solution in Libya instead of a military escalation, otherwise Libya will slip into more chaos and internal fighting, which will have serious repercussions on everyone.
He also directed a message to the Libyan people, asking them to support their armed forces in confronting armed militias, rejecting all foreign interference, and working together to renounce disputes.
Additionally, Aboul Enein called on the United Nations (UN), the Security Council, the European Union (EU), the African Union (AU), and the international community to adopt this initiative which came in response to all previous initiatives and Security Council resolutions.
He also urged the Arab League to meet at the level of Arab foreign ministers (FMs) to announce its support for the Egyptian initiative and discuss ways to implement it.
