Egyptian-European Business Council Chairman MP Mohamed Aboul Enein has welcomed Egypt's initiative to end the crisis in Libya.

In an official statement, Aboul Enein said that Egypt's President Abdul Fattah El Sisi initiative has received wide global attention, and developed an accurate roadmap to get out of the Libyan crisis.

He also added that President Sisi's initiative will achieve security and political stability for Libya and its brotherly people.

Moreover, the lawmaker added that "Cairo Declaration", to support a comprehensive settlement in Libya, puts the international community in front of its true responsibility towards the crisis, tightened the noose on terrorist militias and the countries that support them, and thwarted the ambitions of international entities targeting Libya's security and stability.

In addition, the Egyptian-European council chairman said that The great praise received by the initiative from the US, Russia, France, Saudi Arabia, and Al-Bahrain gives it a diplomatic impetus and imposes on international entities, especially the United Nations (UN), to move forward in implementing its recommendations, in order to preserve the Libyan people's right to a decent life and desired security stability.

"President Sisi’s initiative aims to destroy a dangerous terrorist hotbed whose threats may extend beyond the Libyan territories, to Europe and the whole world as well," the statement read. "Hence, the international community should  join hands with President Sisi and the Libyan parties for a ceasefire, and to comply with the provisions of the Cairo Declaration to restore control of the Libyan army on its territories, withdraw mercenary militias, and curb the malicious role of international parties seeking to ignite strife in the region."

Abu Al-Enein stressed the key role of the Libyan people in implementing the Cairo initiative, underlining the necessity of their cohesion and unity to get rid of the interference of external parties and greedy people in Libya's wealth.

Additionally, the Egyptian-European council called on the United Nations (UN), the Security Council, the European Union (EU), the African Union (AU), and the international community to assume their responsibilities towards the Libyan crisis, in line with the "Cairo Declaration" recommendations.

Egypt's Initiative to End War in Libya

It is worth mentioning that, Egypt's head of state received Libyan Parliament Speaker Aguila Saleh and Libyan National Army Commander Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar on Saturday and announced an initiative to end the conflict in the neighbouring country.

Sisi told a news conference that the initiative includes a cease-fire starting Monday and is meant to pave the way for elections in oil-rich Libya.

He warned against continuing to look for a military solution to the country’s crisis. ُ
