The Abou El-Enein Foundation for Social and Cultural Activities has joined the new phase of the “New Hope for Economic Empowerment” initiative, supporting 200 women breadwinners in Giza and Beni Suef through income-generating poultry projects.
The new phase of the initiative was launched in Giza under the umbrella of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, in the presence of the Chinese Ambassador to Cairo, Nabila Makram, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the National Alliance, Hatem Metwally, Deputy Head of the Technical Secretariat, and a number of alliance leaders and civil society organisations involved in the initiative.
As part of its contribution, the Abou El-Enein Foundation is providing women breadwinners with an integrated poultry-rearing project that includes chicks, feed, veterinary care and technical follow-up. The project is designed to provide beneficiary families with a sustainable source of income and help them improve their living conditions.
The support comes within the vision of MP Mohamed Abou El-Enein, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and President of the Euro-Mediterranean Parliament, to expand economic empowerment for the most vulnerable families and turn social support into productive projects capable of achieving financial independence.
Somaya Abou El-Enein, Deputy Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Abou El-Enein Foundation, followed up on the implementation stages of the project and coordination with partners to ensure that beneficiaries receive the technical support and training needed for the project’s success and sustainability.
The new phase builds on the success achieved by the “New Hope” initiative in Menoufia, where two phases targeted 200 families. The initiative recorded a success rate of 96.25%, while beneficiary satisfaction reached 98%, encouraging organisers to expand the project into new governorates.
The Abou El-Enein Foundation also hosted the project’s training workshop, organised by the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, to train beneficiaries on implementation mechanisms, proper poultry-rearing methods and veterinary care. The training aims to help women achieve the best possible economic return from the project.
The latest phase is being carried out with the participation of several civil society organisations that are members of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work. The initiative reflects the strength of cooperation between different partners in supporting sustainable development, empowering women breadwinners and helping Egyptian families build a better future.
