Veteran actress Abla Kamel made her long-awaited comeback to the small screen on Wednesday through a TV commercial after 8 years of absence.
The commercial featured a high-profile lineup, including Yasmin Abdelaziz, Menna Shalaby, "The King" Mohamed Mounir, Amir Eid, Mostafa Gharieb, Taha El Desoky, Mohamed Mamdouh, Hatem Salah, and Jessica Hosam Eldin.
Kamel appeared in the ad in her usual natural look that the public loved, donning a simple outfit and without makeup.
The scenes came in a warm and humane tone, which provided the audience with a sense of nostalgia and warmth.
The veteran actress went viral on social media and topped search engines within hours of being aired.
Kamel made her last onscreen appearance in the final and fifth season of the TV series "Selsal Al Dam" in 2018.
Since then, the public has been eagerly awaiting any news regarding her return, whether through a new TV series or a media appearance, which has finally been achieved through this Ramadan commercial.
Kamel, born on September 17, 1960, in Beheira Governorate, Egypt, had participated in nearly 100 artistic works.
In 1984, the actress graduated from the Faculty of Arts Department of Libraries and started her career in the El Taliaa theater.
Kamel made her first appearance in a monodrama entitled, “Nouba sahyen”, then collaborated with veteran actor Mohamed Sobhy in the 1989 play “Weghet Nazar”. She also participated in several plays by Lenin El-Ramly.
Kamel married actor Ahmad Kamal, with whom she had two daughters. She later married the late actor Mahmoud El Gendy in 2004. However, the couple’s marriage did not last for two years, as they announced their separation in 2005.
