On Monday, Egyptian Minister of Culture,Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, affirmed that soft power in all its forms is a way of consolidating the bonds of friendship among peoples.
She highlighted the important role of arts in promoting Egypt at the regional and international levels, noting that thought and art are one of the most important tools for expressing the nature of societies.
This came after the participation of the Cairo Opera Ballet Troupe in the activities of the Dubai Art Expo as part of the celebration of the Egyptian Day.
The celebration included features of Egyptian folklore through artistic shows, during which the Cairo Opera Ballet troupe performed Saeedi “Upper Egyptian” shows, using the stick and the ancient Saidi clothes and the Alexandrian dance, which is the most famous dance designed by Mahmoud Reda.
The Hajjala dance with Bedouin folk music, the Muwashah dance that mixes Andalusian and Arab dance, and Nubian dance from the ancient Egyptian civilization, including marriage rites, harvest celebrations, the flood of the Nile, birthday celebrations, and others were also performed during the ceremony.
The troupe was able to convey part of the distinctive heritage of Egypt, in addition to expressing an aspect of the unique identity of Egyptian arts and culture.
