The book "A Treatise on the Sciences of the Qur'an" by the eminent scholar Sheikh Mahmoud Abu Dakika, a member of the Council of Senior Scholar at Al-Azhar, is one of the publications of the Muslim Council of Elders displayed at the Cairo International Book Fair 2024.

The book is considered one of the most important contemporary works in the sciences of the Qur'an which presents various topics related to the sciences of the Qur'an, enriched by a diverse culture that complements each other. The author provides keen insights, a discerning mind, and skillful variation in his approaches to quoting without unnecessary repetition or complexity.

The author also distills the essence of his observations on the discussions of the sciences of the Qur'an found in works such as al-Zarkashi's "Burhan" and al-Suyuti's "Itqan," as well as the introductory sections of established commentaries like those of al-Tabari, al-Qurtubi, al-Alusi, and others, both ancient and modern. He has meticulously examined and selected what facilitates the understanding of their texts and captures the scattered pearls of their wisdom.

The book further delves into the concept of the Qur'an in language and the terminology of the scholars and theologians. It explores the meaning of the sciences of the Qur'an, the history of the emergence of this term, the descent of the Qur'an in terms of meaning and method, the reasons for revelation, the benefits of knowledge of the reasons for revelation, the Meccan and Medinan verses, their differences, the compilation of the Qur'an, the arrangement of its chapters, and the script of the Qur'an.

Additionally, the author responds within his book to a variety of doubts that have been raised about certain topics in the sciences of the Qur'an, such as the doubts surrounding the Meccan and Medinan chapters, the compilation of the Qur'an, and others. The book is filled with a wealth of benefits and insights, understanding the significance of this treatise that paved the way for the contemporary writings that followed.

The Muslim Council of Elders' pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair features a diverse collection of publications, along with a series of seminars, activities, and events focused on promoting the values of peace and mutual coexistence among all humanity.
