Paramount unveiled Thursday the official title for the next installment in the "A Quiet Place" franchise.
The spinoff will be called "A Quiet Place: Day One", teasing a prequel story set on the day the aliens invaded Earth.
Filmmaker Michael Sarnoski is directing the movie after Jeff Nichols exited the project in late 2021.
"A Quiet Place: Day One" will debut in theaters on September 22, 2023.
The hit horror franchise was created in 2018 by actor and director John Krasinski. It centered around the post-apocalyptic world introduced in the first two movies.
The first Quiet Place, co-written by Krasinski and the team of Bryan Woods and Scott Beck, turned the filmmaker into an A-list director. It earned rave reviews and $340.9 million globally.
Krasinski wrote and directed the second installment, which opened in May 2021 and grossed $297 million globally, a strong showing amid the coronavirus pandemic.
He is also set to helm a third chapter in the leading franchise, currently in early development and scheduled to release in 2025.
