The Egyptian archaeological mission led by Dr. Mustafa Waziry, General Secretary of the Higher Council of Antiquities, has discovered a unique grave at the Rocky Hills area ( Al Rabwat Al Sakhrya) in Fayoum.
Dr. Waziry said that the grave, which was was full of dirt, is a unique model of rocky burial places in that area. However, it was without inscriptions.
It has a copulated materials –like ceiling along with a long hall and three rectangular galleries.
Ostraka and splinters of wooden coffins dated back to various epochs of Ancient Egypt, were found in the grave.
The General Secretary explained that the new-discovered grave was used many times throughout consequent epochs.
Various wooden masks of men, juniors and women were found there. Some of those masks were well engraved to show countenances of the face. But some others either were in bad manner but or worn.
He described those masks as artifacts showing accuracy and professionalism of engraving made by ancient Egyptians.

The mission also discovered a wooden statue, spells of some deities made of Egyptian faience and various pottery urns along splinters of human bones and ones of wooden coffins.
Remains of two carton-ages carried hieroglyphs and images of various deities and a box-full of ushabti statues made of clay.
He revealed that after lifting the dirt, the mission found parts of carton-ages carrying images of deities colored in bright colors, a child shoe made of goat skin and a piece of Egyptian faience carrying image of King Osorkon I from the XXII Dynasty in Ancient Egypt.
