Issuing Christmas cards is a tradition followed by all Royalties around the world. The tradition would be globally marked by the British Royal Family.
However, the majority of Royal families around the world follow the same tradition of giving their people a festive feeling at Christmas and holidays, in addition, these cards usually reflect a mood of intimacy and warmth that mirrors the concept of the family during the holiday time. Here are all issued Royal Christmas cards for 2022.
UK
The Royal family of the United Kingdom is the oldest one following the tradition of releasing annual Christmas cards, featuring several Royalties. The top trending annual Christmas cards were the ones of Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and the Cambridges.
But, this year, the whole classification changed as Queen Elizabeth passed away, driving her eldest son to the throne and to the top of the Royal Christmas cards issuers.
King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla shared a warm photo of themselves at the Braemar Games in September 2022.
The Cambridges also received new titles this year after the accession of King Charles III as Prince William was named the Prince of Wales, and his wife Kate was appointed as the Princess of Wales to be the first who holds this title since Princess Diana.
The Royal couple followed their tradition of Christmas cards by issuing a warm and cheerful photo of them with their children in casual outfits.
In the same context, the Christmas card of the Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward who is the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II, and the Countess of Wessex, Sophie, trended in the UK as the couple posted a photo for themselves with the late queen, captioning: "In memory of happy days."
It is well known that Countess Sophie was one of the closest persons to Queen Elizabeth II, so her death left the countess in deep grief.
Following the same tradition, the Sussexes also released a Christmas card. The new card depicted Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle without their children.
Belgium
Following the same tradition, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde posted a more traditional family portrait for their 2022 Christmas card.
It showed the monarch and his wife seated on a golden chair, surrounded by their four children: Crown Princess Elisabeth, Prince Gabriel, Prince Emmanuel, and Princess Eleonore.
Spain This year, the Spanish Royal Family's Christmas card carried a photo of King Felipe and Queen Letizia's daughters, Princess Leonor and Princess Infanta Sofia.
The royal sisters were dressed casually in knitwear, with their arms around each other.
Netherlands
The Dutch Royal Family also released a lovely family photo as their 2022 Christmas card. The card showed King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima with their daughters dressed in eveningwear and even features their family dog, Mambo.
