Netflix has unveiled the official teaser for BBC’s TV adaptation of Holly Jackson’s "A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder".

Emma Myers, who plays Wednesday’s werewolf roommate Enid Sinclair in the Netflix smash, leads the series as Pip Fitz-Amobi.

The official synopsis reads: Five years ago, schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh. Case closed. The police know he did it. Everyone in town knows he did it. But smart and single minded Pip Fitz-Amobi isn’t so sure and she’s determined to prove it. And if Sal Singh isn’t a murderer and the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth? The only issue is Sal is dead too, and there’s no one to clear his name. That is, until Pip teams up with Sal’s brother to prove his innocence."

Myers stars opposite newcomer Zain Iqbal, who plays Ravi in the adaptation of Jackson’s best-selling mystery thrillers.

The cast also include Anna Maxwell Martin, Gary Beadle, Mathew Baynton, India Lillie Davies, Rahul Pattni, Henry Ashton, Mitu Panicucci, Orla Hill, Ephraim O.P. Sampson, Carla Woodcock, Yasmin Al-Khudhairi, Jessica Webber, Matthew Khan, Georgia Aaron, Oliver Wickham, Adam Astill, Annabel Mullion, Jude Morgan-Collie, Raiko Gohara, Asha Banks, and Yali Topol Margalith.

Red Rose’s Poppy Cogan is writing and Dracula star Dolly Wells is directing.

The series from "Pursuit of Love" producer Moonage Pictures is one of the youth-skewing Normal People network BBC Three’s most high-profile commissions of recent years.

“From the moment we announced that A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder was coming to the BBC I know there’s been a huge amount of speculation from fans about who will play Pip and Ravi,” said Fiona Campbell, Controller of Youth Audience, BBC iPlayer and BBC Three.

“In Emma and Zain we’ve found two actors who embody the characters so perfectly it will feel as though they’ve stepped straight from the pages of Holly’s books onto our screens. I can’t wait for BBC Three viewers to see them in action.”

Dolly Wells directs the series from a script penned by Poppy Cogan, Zia Ahmed, Ajoke Ibironke, and Ruby Thomas.

“A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder” is produced by Florence Walker, with executive producers Matthew Read, Matthew Bouch, and Frith Tiplady for Moonage Pictures, Lucy Richer and Danielle Scott-Haughton for the BBC, Jonas Melcher for ZDFneo and Dolly Wells, author Holly Jackson and writer Cogan.

The series is produced by Moonage Pictures, one of BBC Studios invested production labels, in co-production with ZDFneo and Netflix.

“A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” premieres August 1 on Netflix.
