Netflix has revealed that “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” Season 2 is releasing on May 27.
The six-episode season will drop on Netflix globally with some exceptions. In the U.K. and Ireland it will be available on BBC Three and iPlayer (also on May 27) and in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland on ZDFneo.
Based on Holly Jackson’s hit novels, the show sees “Wednesday” star Emma Myers play teenage super sleuth Pip. “I’m feeling very nostalgic,” Myers says in a social media video, announcing the launch date. “This season has been really special to me, and I’m so excited for everybody to see it.”
Zain Iqbal returns as Pip’s burgeoning love interest Ravi Singh in season 2, which follows the pair as they deal with the aftermath of solving Andie Bell’s murder while Max Hastings’ (Henry Ashton) trial is approaching. Suddenly, Connor’s (Jude Morgan-Collie) brother Jamie (Eden H Davies) disappears, and it’s down to Pip to find him before it’s too late.
The new season also features newcomers Misia Butler (“Kaos”), Eden H. Davies (“Tell Me Everything”) and Jack Rowan (“Noughts + Crosses”).
Screenwriter Poppy Cogan has also returned for Season 2, this time teaming up with Jackson to adapt the second book in her YA mystery series, “Bad Blood.”
“I am beyond thrilled that we can continue Pip’s story and, this time, I’m writing on the show!” Jackson said. “We owe everything to the dedicated fans, and I can’t wait to reunite with my ‘AGGGTM’ family!”
The series is produced by Moonage Pictures, part of ITV Studios in a co-production with Netflix and ZDFneo. BBC Studios is repping global sales.
