Egypt's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Eissa held a videoconference on Thursday, to follow up on the completion of construction and preparations for the grand opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).
The meeting, which was attended by a number of ministry officials, reviewed preparations for installing small and medium artifacts inside the main exhibition halls and discussed the readiness of all services provided to visitors.
The officials informed the minister that the workers have completed the installation of 50 percent of all major artifacts inside the main exhibition halls, noting that they installed 160 artifacts inside the 159 display window designated for them in the main halls.
On his part, the Minister affirmed the need to complete the remaining work on time in accordance with a comprehensive plan developed last April.
