The Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF) is the oldest and largest book fair in the Middle East and North Africa region. It will be held from January 26 to February 6, 2024. The fair was first organized in 1969 by the then-Minister of Culture, Tharwat Okasha.

The fair attracts around 2 million visitors annually and lasts for 12 days. It features publishers from all over the Arab world and beyond, and also includes cultural seminars, film screenings, theater performances, art exhibitions, and music shows.

The 55th CIBF will be held at the Egypt International Exhibition and Conference Center in New Cairo. The fair will open with an exclusive event for invitees, subscribers, publishers, and industry professionals on January 25.

The fair will be open to the public from ten in the morning until eight in the evening, and until nine in the evening on Thursdays and Fridays.

For the children's literature section, the fair will feature the renowned writer Yaqoub Al-Sharouni, who has contributed many works that express originality and Egyptian identity.

The famous archaeologist Dr. Selim Hassan has been chosen as the second honorary character of the book fair.
