The 53rd Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF) will kick off officially tomorrow, Wednesday. The activities of the event will last until February 7 at Egypt International Exhibition Center.
The Minister of Culture Enas Abdel Dayem previously revealed that CIBF activities came back to their familiar season which is between the end of January and the beginnings of February with the forthcoming edition.
The 53rd CIBF will be held under the theme of “Egypt’s Identity,” and Greece was selected to be the Guest of Honor. In addition, the event will pay tributes to Yehia Haqy and Abdel Tawab Youssef.
The number of exhibitors, it reached 1067, pided into 879 pavilions.
The organizers of the CIBF announced that all visitors can access the halls without vaccination requirements, however, only fully vaccinated persons would have the chance to attend cultural events hosted in in-door venues.
Visitors can purchase tickets through the ordinary tickets spots, or online.
The ticket can be used on any date for once only, and the person can book any number of tickets.
It is worthy to mention that the previous edition of CIBF gained a new world record as the number of its visitors surpassed 1, 700,000 persons according to Dr. Haitham El Hagg, the Director of the Egyptian General Book Organization.
This number was almost less than the total number of visitors in the previous editions by 50%, however, it was the most visited cultural event since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in the world.
