The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) interim chairman Amr El-Ganainy said on Sunday that the EFA normalization Committee would choose the national team's next coach out of five candidates.

"We have five nominees to lead the Pharaohs; Hassan Shehata, Ahmed Hossam Mido, Hossam Hassan, Hossam EL-Badry, and Ihab Galal," the interim president said.

"The EFA broad member will hold a meeting to choose the appropriate one," El-Ganainy added. "Within a week, we will announce the name of the Pharaohs' new head coach."

last month, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi announced that the upcoming coach for the Pharaohs would be an Egyptian.

The Federation International Football Association (FIFA) appointed on Tuesday, August 20 a normalization committee to run EFA.

FIFA said in a statement that this committee would run the daily affairs of EFA, organize and conduct elections for all EFA members based on their new statutes.

The committee included Amr Youssef Hassan El Ganainy as a chairman, Gamal Mohamed Ali as a vice president, Sahar Abdel Hak Ahmed, Mohamed Fadl Zahran, and Ahmed Abdallah Rady as members.

FIFA decision came after the recent resignation of the Egyptian Football Association President Hany Abo Rida, as well as the entire board members. Before its resignation, the EFA board sacked coach Javier Aguirre of the national team.
