Abou Rida has also announced the sacking of Javier Aguirre as the Egyptian national team manager after the disappointing 2019 AFCON campaign.

However, Rida, also a member of the FIFA Council and CAF Executive Committee, said he will continue chairing the tournament's Local Organizing Committee until it finishes on July 19.

The resignations were followed one by one as Hazem Emam, Ahmed Mujahid, Saif Zaher, Majdi Abdelghani, Karam Kurdi, Essam Abdel Fattah, Khaled Latif, and Dina Rifai resigned.

Saif Zaher, EFA members of the board of directors, announced their resignation after the exit of Egypt from the 16 round of the Africa Cup of Nations 2019.

Mujahid announced on the EFA official website that he agrees on Abou Rida`s demand to the members for their resignations.

He stressed in his remarks that he is committed to continuing his work as coordinator of the Africa Nations Cup, organized by Egypt.

On his part,  Emam wrote on his official account on Twitter: "After these results, I have to resign, and good luck for what is coming in favor of the Egyptian ball."

Zaher also posted on his Facebook account saying: "We tried and worked hard, but we had to resign after our team went out, we hope success for Egyptian football."

EFA`s official Facebook account posted a statement announcing the resignation of Essam Abdel Fattah, responding to  Abou Rida`s invitation.

"There is no decision on my part, I did not decide to resign from my position, I spoke with the players after the loss, and I will hold a meeting with the EFA`s board of directors on Sunday," said Javier Aguirre, the team`s coach.

"My meeting with the EFA`s board of directors will focus on the next step and about my status (leaving or staying) with the team after its exit from the Africa Cup of Nations," Aguirre added.
