The Federation International Football Association appointed on Tuesday a normalization committee for the Egyptian Football Association (EFA).

FIFA decision came after the recent resignation of the Egyptian Football Association President Hany Abo Rida, as well as the entire broad members.

The committee included Amr Youssef Hassan El Ganainy as a chairman, Gamal Mohamed Ali as a vice president, Sahar Abdel Hak Ahmed, Mohamed Fadl Zahran, and Ahmed Abdallah Rady as members.

FIFA said in a statement that this committee would run the daily affairs of EFA, organize and conduct elections for all EFA members based on their new statutes.

"The mandate of the normalization committee will act as an electoral committee to organize and conduct elections of a new EFA board based on the newly aligned EFA Statutes," the statement read.

"As the normalization committee will also act as an electoral committee, none of its members can be eligible for any of the open positions in the elections under any circumstances," it added.

"The specified period of time during which the normalization committee will perform its functions shall expire no later than 31 July 2020 or as soon as it has fulfilled all of its tasks," the statement noted.

It is worth mentioning that the resignation of EFA broad members came after the shock exist of the Pharaohs form the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after they suffered a shock defeat by South Africa in the last 16 of the tournament.
