Addis Ababa will embrace tomorrow Wednesday the 4th round of Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) talks, in the presence of the Egyptian, Sudanese and Ethiopian water resources and irrigation ministers.

The meeting will be attended by representatives from the US Department of Treasury and the World Bank (WB) group.

The meeting will discuss the rules of GERD filling and operation.

It is worth mentioning, Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia agreed to continue their technical discussions on all unresolved issues concerning the (GERD) project during their next meeting on January 8-9 in Addis Ababa.

This came at the conclusion of their 3rd round of talks over the dam which is under-construction on Ethiopia's Blue Nile, the main tributary of the River Nile which provides more than 90 percent of Egypt’s freshwater.

Earlier in mid-November, Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia’s ministers attended in Addis Ababa, the first of four meetings agreed upon to break the deadlock in talks over the filling and operation of GERD.

The meeting, which was attended by the water ministers and technical delegations of the three countries, came nearly a week after the foreign ministers of Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan agreed during a US Treasury Department brokered meeting in Washington to work towards reaching a deal over the filling and operation of the GERD.
