488,000 Egyptians register for coronavirus vaccine

On Monday, Dr. Alaa Eid, Head of Preventive Sector at Ministry of Health confirmed that 488,000 Egyptian citizens of eligible groups have been registered for vaccination since its inception until now.

Last week, Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health held a meeting through the “call conference” technology on Saturday with the Ministry’s leaders and the agents of the Ministry of Health in all governorates. Zayed confirmed that it is intended to vaccinate 250,000 medical teams and citizens of eligible groups with the Coronavirus vaccine by the end of this week.

During the meeting, she discussed the workflow in hospitals and vaccinating the eligible groups with the new COVID-19 vaccine.

Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health stated that the minister followed the process of vaccinating the medical staff and eligible groups of Egyptian citizens with chronic diseases and the elderly.

He added that the meeting reviewed the shipments of vaccines that are distributed to centers designated for receiving vaccines after conducting the necessary analyzes for it in the Egyptian Drug Authority laboratories.

Mujahid added that the minister directed the expansion of the centers designated to receive the Coronavirus vaccine in the governorates that have high registration rates by citizens on the website to receive the vaccine.
