On Saturday, the world premiere of "Abu Zaabal 89" film attracted a lot of audience and stars on the third day of the 45 Cairo International Film Festival.
Major and veteran stars such as Khaled El Nabwy, Sayed Ragab, Ahmed Magdy, Mohamed Shahin, Salwa Mohamed Ali, and Nour El Nabawy attended the film.
In addition, the event was a sold-out one.
Directed by Bassam Mortada, the director documents his childhood memories with his father during his political activity years of the father which caused him to be arrested several times in the 1980s.
The director also reflected on his relationship with his father, and their similarities and differences.
Furthermore, the feature paid a sweet tribute to his mother who died during the director's work on the film.
The film scoops the impact of the arrest of the father and his absence on the family, especially the son and the mother.
After the film, the director and the father received huge applause from the fans.
