The 32nd Arab Music Festival, which was due to kick off next week, has been postponed due to the Israel-Hamas conflict.

The 2023 event has been initially set to take place from October 24 to November 2. No new date has been announced yet.

The decision comes after Hamas launched the Oct. 7 surprise attack on Israel out of Gaza, killing more than 900 people and kidnapping more than 100 others.

Israel declared a complete siege of Gaza and has also launched a bombing campaign on the Palestinian territory, which has killed at least 700 people.

Israeli are now massing on the Israel-Gaza border ahead of a potential land invasion.

The 32nd Arab Music Festival features a star-studded lineup that includes Angham, Assala, Tamer Ashour, Hamza Namira, Ahmed Saad, Adam, Medhat Saleh, Ali Al-Haggar, Hany Shaker, Khaled Selim, and Carmen Soliman.

Moreover, a number of great musicians will be honored during the opening ceremony, including Omar Khairat, Salah El Sharnoubi, and Abdullah Helmy.

The festival will also posthumously honor Hussein El-Sayed, Ahmad El Haggar, Fouad Zabadi, Hazem Shaheen, and Abdullah Helmy.

This year, the prestigious event hosts 38 concerts by 120 artists from 18 Arab countries: Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Morocco, UAE, Jordan, Tunisia, Oman, Libya, Iraq, Bahrain, Kuwait, Palestine, Sudan, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, America, and Germany.

The concerts are held in various venues Cairo Opera House, Alexandria Opera House's Sayed Darwish Theater, and Damanhour Opera.
