31st Edition of Arab Music Festival Honors 16 Musical Personalities

The 31st edition of the Arab Music Festival will be launched by Nevin Al-Kilany, Minister of Culture and Magdy Saber, Head of the Cairo Opera House, on Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Fountain Theater at Cairo Opera House with a series of live concerts and performances.

The festival will take place at the Cairo Opera House, Damanhour Opera Opera House and Alexandria Said Darwish Theater.

During the ceremony, the Minister of Culture and the head of the Opera will honor 16 musical personalities who contributed to enriching artistic life in Egypt and the Arab world.

The festival will be opened on October 20, at Opera, for the centenary of the musician Ali Ismail, with the participation of singers Khaled Selim, Walid Haider, Amira Ahmed, Mohamed Hassan, Ahmed Effat, Ghada Adam, Hanan Essam, Noha Hafez, with the participation of the Cairo Opera Ballet, the renowned choreography of Armenia Kamel, and conducting the orchestra Ahmed Effat.

Meanwhile, the Institute of Arab Music will welcome Arab music lovers, with a concert featuring the Arab Music Heritage Ensemble led by Maestro Farouk Al-Babli, with the participation of singers Ahmed Mohsen, Angham Mustafa, Muhammad Shawqi, Ahmed Al-Waziri, and Waad Al-Bahri (Syria).

The series of concerts will be continued on the stage of the Sayed Dar Darwish Theater in Alexandria, where the Abdel Halim Nuira band star accompanied by Maestro Ahmed Amer will take the stage first, then renowned singer Medhat Salih and pianist Amr Sleim.
