Three persons were injured at Atlanta International Airport as a man's gun fired some shots accidentally which caused a traumatic atmosphere at the airport amid Thanksgiving vacations, Sputnik reported on Sunday.
According to a statement released by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), all reported injuries were non-life threatening one.
The incident started with a man whose gun was detected by X-Ray system at the Airport's checkpoint.
TSA added in its statement that one of the agents "advised the passenger not to touch the property, and as he opened the compartment containing the prohibited item, the passenger lunged into the bag and grabbed a firearm, at which point it discharged."
Next, the owner of the weapon fled the airport, however, authorities succeeded in identifying and arresting him. In addition, Reuters cited Atlanta Police Major Reginald Moorman's statement to reporters, saying: "he was being sought of carrying a concealed weapon at a commercial airport, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm and reckless conduct."
In two hours, the activity of the flights at the airport was resumed without any threats, as the TSA announced in a statement: "Officials have given an all-clear for #ATLAirport and normal operations are beginning."
