The Eid al-Fitr movie marathon is one of the important seasons of the entertainment industry in Egypt and the Arab World.
However, the Coronavirus pandemic has caused crises for many industries, especially after the government's decision to close all stores, cinemas, malls, and cafes at 9 PM.
Participating movies
Sayed Fathy, Director General of the Chamber of Cinema Industry, revealed the measures taken by the cinemas to combat the Coronavirus.
In a press statement, Fathy explaining that the current movie marathon will only feature three movies, namely, Ramez Galal's "Ahmed Notre Dame", Dina El-Sherbiny's "Sanya Wahda", and Karim Fahmy's “Dido".
He affirmed that theaters are adhering to ministerial decisions and canceled the 9 PM showtime screening.

Dido
The film, which has been postponed more than once, also stars Bayoumi Fouad, Hamdy Marghany, Huda El Mufti, Ahmed Fathi, Mohamed Tharwat, and others.
It also includes several guest appearances including Ahmed Fahmy, Hisham Maged, and Sheko.
The light comedy film is produced by Ahmed El Sobky and helmed by Amr Salah from a script by Fahmy.
The plot centers around Deedo, a young man who along with his friends, decides to rob a wealthy scientist, who later discovers their evil plan and shrinks them into fingertips sizes through one of his science experiments.

Sanya Wahda
El Sherbiny is participating along with Mostafa Khater in the Eid al-Fitr movie marathon with film “Sanya Wahda”.
The film also stars Mahmoud Hamida, Fathy Abdel Wahab, Sawsan Badr, Wizzo, Ola Rushdie, and others. It also features actor Ahmed El Fishawy making a guest appearance.
“Sanya Wahda” is written by Mostafa Hamdy, directed by Akram Farid, and produced by Mohamed El Sobky.

Ahmed Notre Dame
Galal is collaborating with Ghada Adel after 16 years through the film “Ahmed Notre Dame”. They collaborated for the first time in the 2001 film “55 Esaaf”.
The film is a comedy horror genre penned by Loay Al-Sayed, directed by Mahmoud Karim, and stars Ghada Adel, Khaled El Sawy, Bayoumi Fouad, Hamdy El Marghany, Entsar, and others.
The plot centers around a journalist (Galal), who investigates the large-scale murder cases of women amidst security services search for the killer (El Sawy). The forces are tipped off that the killer is influenced by the character of “Hunchback of Notre-Dame“, the lead character of the French romantic novel by Victor Hugo.
The journalist comes up with a plan to grab the killer’s attention, which through seeking the help of a doctor (Adel), and calling himself Ahmed Notre Dame, in an attempt to lure the killer with his “likeness” of Notre Dame.
Indeed, the killer begins to search for “Ahmed Notre Dame”, especially as they both love the same character. They meet and become friends, and soon the protagonist learns the reason behind the killings, which is due to the killer’s suffering from a complication in his life that made him hate women and seeks to revenge against them.
