At least two people were killed in floods and landslides during a tropical depression in the Philippines. The Philippine Met Office announced that the tropical depression, locally called "Viki", is accompanied by sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour, and storms of up to 55 kilometers per hour.
The office statement said that it is expected that "Vicky" will leave the Philippines on Sunday, but it warned of continued rains in the northern and western parts of the country.
The disaster management officials in Philippines reported that the depression had caused heavy rains since Friday in the eastern and southern parts of Philippines. The Philippine police indicated that two people were killed as a result of a landslide in the eastern province of Leyte.
