On Wednesday, one of the leaders of the October 6, 1973 war and the leader of the second army during the 1973 war, General Abdel Meniom Khalil, passed away.
He served all his lifetime as a leader since graduation, and he held the responsibilities of heading the second army twice.
The first was during the War of Attrition, and the second was the October 6, 1973 war
Khalil was also the chief of the training authority of the Armed Forces and the Assistant of Military Minister for several times.
In addition, he participated in all Egyptian wars in modern times.
A military funeral will be conducted for the late hero at Al Mosheet Tantawy Mosque.
In the same context, the Egyptian Armed Forces mourned the death of Khalil as one of the leaders of the 6th of October war and for serving at the Armed Forces all his lifetime since graduation.
In a statement, it also offered condolences to his family and the armed forces, asking God Almighty to bless the deceased with his mercy and forgiveness and to grant her family patience and solace.
