160 Artifacts Placed inside Showrooms in Grand Egyptian Museum per Day

Within the framework of the weekly follow-up of business developments at the Grand Egyptian Museum, Ahmed Essa, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, held an extensive meeting via video conference technology, today, Saturday.

The meeting was in the presence of Major General Atef Moftah, General Supervisor of the Grand Egyptian Museum project and the surrounding area, Major General Hisham Shaarawy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Treasures Company, Ahmed Ebeid, Assistant Minister for the Affairs of the Minister’s Office, Al-Tayeb Abbas, Assistant Minister for Archaeological Affairs at the Museum, Yumni Al-Bahar, Assistant Minister for Technical Affairs, and Hussein Kamal Director General of Restoration Affairs, and Yasmine Sabry, representing the executing companies to equip museum exhibition halls.

During the meeting, it was confirmed that the progress of the works in the museum was carried out according to the timings set for their completion and in accordance with the plan developed last April to complete all the remaining works in September.

The plan for placing artifacts within the two display screens ready to receive these pieces in the main halls was also reviewed, as the work team of archaeologists and restorers began to place an average of over160 artifacts per day, starting from last week, to achieve the compressed program to complete the placement of all artifacts in the showrooms.
