The 12th edition of Luxor African Film Festival will kick off tonight in a massive opening ceremony.
The ceremony will be held at the Karnak Temple and it will be attended by 300 guests.
55 film will take part in the forthcoming edition's four editions, representing 31 countries.
The four competitions are official competition, short film competition, diaspora, and students' film competition.
the 12th edition will celebrate the legacy of four late African stars to recall their memory.
Egyptian icon Salah Mansour, who is known for his leading roles in "Al Zoga Al Thaniya," and "Al Bostagim," is one of the honored stars in the 12th edition.
In addition, Sengalese Ousmane Sembène, Algerian actress Chafia Boudraa, and Tunisian Hichem Rostom.
Trending superstar Mohamed Ramadan will be also honored at the festival.
