On Friday, Luxor African Film Festival announced that the 12th edition will celebrate the legacy of four late African stars to recall their memory.
Egyptian icon Salah Mansour, who is known for his leading roles in "Al Zoga Al Thaniya," and "Al Bostagim," is one of the honored stars in the 12th edition.
In addition, Sengalese Ousmane Sembène, Algerian actress Chafia Boudraa, and Tunisian Hichem Rostom.
The 12th Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF) organizing committee announced honoring actor Mohamed Ramadan, the festival announced on Friday.
The festival said in an announcement: "LAFF12 has proudly announced Mohamed Ramadan as tribute for its 12th edition."
The upcoming edition will be held under the theme of "Cinema the quest to immortality." It was announced by the festival's Honorary President Mahmoud Hemeida.
30 countries will participate in the 12 edition of the festival including Tunisia, the USA, Nigeria, France, Germany, Luxembourg, and Belgium.
31 films are competing in the festival's three different competitions: Official Competition, Short Film Competition, and Diaspora Films Competition.
