12.13% of African Residents Fully Vaccinated: ACDC

The Africa Centres for Disease Control (ACDC) and Prevention announced the percentage of the vaccinated in Africa, media agencies reported on Friday.

The ACDC revealed that 12.13% of the continent residents are fully vaccinated, 17.34% received one dose, and % 0.82% received the booster shots.

The institution reflected on Thursday that 11 million and 65,000 infections were recorded and 10 million and 205,000 were recovered. Regarding the deaths related to COVID-19, 4.2% of the total deaths are related to COVID-19. It reached 3% of the total infections worldwide.

48 countries reported the presence of the Alpha variant, 44 countries reported the presence of Beta variant, 47 states declared the existence of delta, 39 one registered Omicron cases, and six states recorded cases of Gama.

53 countries faced the third wave and 46 states suffered from the fourth wave, and only eight countries faced the fifth wave.
