Zimbabwe, officially, applied for the BRICS alliance, MENA agency reported on Tuesday.
Last year, Zimbabwe applied to join the BRICS New Development Bank (NDB), according to the announcement of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The country has submitted its request to join the NDB and is expected to be backed by Russia, Mnangagwa reflected.
The NDB is a multilateral financial institution founded in 2015 Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa; the countries of the BRICS.
The main purpose is to fund infrastructure and sustainable development projects in BRICS countries and other rising market economies and developing countries.
