Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed the adoption of the UN Pact for the future by the leaders of states.

In a statement on Monday, Zelenskyy pointed out that a secure future is possible only if the Russian war is over.

"Despite all obstacles, including Russian attempts to undermine its adoption, the world has managed to unite around the vision of a just and secure future," he said.

He added that the future is only possible if the largest war in Europe since WWII is ended in accordance with the Peace Formula, which is based on the UN Charter's Purposes and Principles, as well as the objective need for global security.

The pact for the future includes a Global Digital Compact and a declaration on future generations.

The culmination of an inclusive, years-long process to adapt international cooperation to the realities of today and the challenges of tomorrow.

The most wide-ranging international agreement in many years, covering entirely new areas as well as issues on which agreement has not been possible in decades, the Pact aims above all to ensure that international institutions can deliver in the face of a world that has changed dramatically since they were created.
