Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation on Friday with the Egyptian President AbdelFattah Elsisi.
Zelenskyy said, In a statement posted on social media, that the Egyptian president informed him that Egypt will not accept grains from occupied territories and is, at the same time, interested in increasing imports of grain from Ukraine.
Beyond trade, the Ukrainian leader said Egypt signaled readiness to contribute to efforts aimed at achieving what he described as a “dignified peace.” The two leaders agreed to maintain close diplomatic coordination
Discussions also extended to developments in the Middle East and the Gulf, with both leaders examining the ripple effects of regional instability on the global oil market. Zelenskyy briefed Sisi on Ukraine’s recent engagements with regional actors.
"We discussed the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf, as well as its impact on the global oil market. I updated the President on our meetings and agreements with countries in the region. Ukraine has significant potential for military-technical cooperation. We also went over other areas for developing bilateral cooperation between our countries. We will continue working on this."
