Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed, on Saturday, that Russia is trying to create a new "pseudo-republics" in Ukraine to break his country apart.

Zelenskyy has urged Ukraine’s regions, including Kherson, not to repeat the experience of Donetsk and Luhansk.

“The occupiers on the territory of the Kherson region are trying to repeat the sad experience of the formation of pseudo-republics,” Zelenskyy said. “They are blackmailing local leaders, putting pressure on deputies, looking for someone to bribe.”

Moreover, the city council members in Kherson, a southern city of 290,000,  rejected plans for a new pseudo-republic, according to Zelenskyy's statement.

In the same vein, Ukrinform announced on Saturday that at least 79 children were killed and almost 100 were injured after Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.

In a statement on Telegram, the Prosecutor General’s Office stated that the most affected children are in the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Sumy, Kherson and Zhytomyr regions.

Furthermore, more than 280 educational institutions have been destroyed, in addition to some 110 educational institutions damaged in the Donetsk region, 28 in the Sumy region, 17 in Kyiv and more than ten children’s medical institutions.
