Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russian shelling has destroyed 113 churches during the "total war" on Ukraine.
In an address on Saturday, Zelensky said that among those damaged churches are the old ones - those that withstood World War II but did not withstand the Russian occupation.
"There are also those that were built after 1991. The reconstruction of the Skete of All Saints of the Svyatohersk Lavra began in 2001. " he added, noting, "June 10 it would be another anniversary of the start of construction."
It is worth mentioing that, Ukrainian President confirmed that Russia has taken control of 3,620 residential settlements in Ukraine since the start of the military operation on February 24.
In a press statement, Zelensky explained that these residential settlements include large cities and small towns, all of which have witnessed destruction and have become unsuitable for urban life.
Moreover, he pointed out that Moscow has used 2,500 missiles of various types against Ukraine since the start of the war, many of them targeting cities and infrastructure.
