President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi expressed his anger over the assassination attempt on his top aide Serhiy Shefir that occurred on Wednesday.

Zelensky affirmed that law enforcement officers are currently working on the scene, believing that it was an assassination attempt.
In the same vein, Zelensky asserted that he is going to the capital after speaking at the UN General Assembly. The president said he does not know who is behind this yet, or whether these forces are internal or external.
"I do not consider them forces, because sending me a message by shooting my friend is weakness," the president stressed. He also stated that the incident will not affect the strength of their team, nor the course he has chosen to fight crime.
Shots were fired at the car of a top aide to the Ukrainian President outside Kiev on Wednesday morning, in what police considered as an assassination attempt.
Ukrainian police said in a statement that a car that Shefir was traveling in came under fire in the village of Lisnyky at about 10 a.m., with more than 10 bullets hitting the vehicle.
Meanwhile, a special police operation is underway to search for the perpetrators and police are appealing for information about the circumstances of the "assassination attempt on the lives of two Ukrainian citizens."
