Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Türkiye has reaffirmed its readiness to help facilitate a meeting at the leaders' level aimed at ending the war.
According to Ukrinform, Zelensky announced this on Telegram.
"I met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan, and awarded him the Order of Merit, II class. I am grateful to Türkiye and to the Minister personally for the efforts to bring peace closer. Today, we discussed the diplomatic situation and the steps that could reinvigorate efforts to achieve peace," Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian President briefed the Turkish Foreign Minister on the situation on the battlefield, while Fidan shared information about his diplomatic contacts at various levels.
The two sides also discussed bilateral relations and the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Türkiye.
"Thank you for the visit and for your readiness to cooperate and advance peace," Zelensky said.
In his evening address, the President also said that Türkiye had confirmed its readiness to make every effort to help organize a meeting between national leaders to bring the war to an end.
"Türkiye confirms that it will do everything possible to facilitate a meeting at the leaders’ level to end this war," Zelensky said.
