Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced plans for an upcoming visit to meet US President Donald Trump in the coming days, signaling renewed high-level engagement between Kyiv and Washington.
In a statement published on Telegram and X on Friday, Zelensky said the two sides had agreed to hold a top-level meeting in the near future.
He noted that the decision followed a briefing from Rustem Umerov, Ukraine’s chief negotiator in peace talks aimed at ending the war with Russia, who updated him on recent contacts with US officials.
Zelensky indicated that the anticipated meeting could prove decisive, stressing that significant decisions may be taken before the end of the year.
The announcement comes amid intensified diplomatic efforts as Ukraine seeks to bolster international support and advance discussions on a potential path toward ending the conflict.
