The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, and UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Maryam Al Muhairi, discussed the repercussions of Russian environmental crimes in Ukraine.
This came during their meeting in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, today, Sunday.
During their meeting, Zelensky stressed on the importance of Emirati's official visit to Kyiv, praising UAE's supportive role and himaniterian assisstance.
"We appreciate this visit and consider it evidence of support for Ukraine by an influential country like the United Arab Emirates," Zelensky said.
"We are also sincerely grateful for the assistance we receive from the UAE, and we expect your country to continue this noble mission," he added.
The Ukrainian president also drew the minister's attention to the consequences of environmental crimes committed by Russia during its large-scale military intervention in Ukraine.
Moreover, Zelensky stressed the need to hold Moscow accountable for the crime of "environmental genocide" it committed in Ukraine.
