Norway announced that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made an unannounced visit to Norway on Wednesday. The visit is aimed at discussing support for Ukraine's defense against the Russian invasion.

According to a statement from the Norwegian government, Zelensky and Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre will hold meetings to discuss Norway's continued support for Ukraine among other topics, as reported by Reuters.

Additionally, leaders from Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland are scheduled to meet in Oslo on Wednesday to attend a summit of Nordic countries.

Prime Minister Støre stated in a press release, "Norway will continue to support Ukraine in defending itself, and we will provide specific, long-term support to assist Ukraine in its fight for freedom and democracy. Ukraine's efforts are essential for safeguarding freedom and security here in Norway as well."

The surprise visit underscores the importance of international cooperation and support for Ukraine as it faces the ongoing conflict with Russia, and it demonstrates the solidarity of Nordic and neighboring countries in assisting Ukraine in its struggle for peace and democracy.
