On Monday, Russia's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said Kyiv does not intend to hold negotiations with Moscow, and that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy does not want peace.

Zakharova said - in response to the statements of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, that negotiations with Russia are possible "only after its defeat" - that anyone who criticizes Russia for not conducting negotiations with the Kyiv regime, should know that it was Ukraine that abandoned those negotiations, and this was confirmed by Kuleba today again, according to “RT” channel.

The Russian foreign ministry spokesperson pointed out that this is not the position of Ukraine, but of Washington as well, stressing that "Zelenskyy and his comrades do not want peace."

Moscow began its special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, Western countries, led by the US, have sent billions of dollars in weapons and ammunition to support the Ukrainian troops against the Russian army, in a move that Moscow considered aimed at inflaming and prolonging the conflict.

Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that Moscow does not plan to occupy Ukrainian territory and that the goal of the operation is to protect people who, for eight years, have been subjected to persecution and genocide by the Kyiv regime.
