The Egyptian Red Crescent launched today the 170th Zad Al-Izza convoy from Egypt to Gaza, carrying a fleet of trucks loaded with urgent humanitarian aid as part of its ongoing role as the national mechanism for coordinating relief efforts to the Strip.
This convoy included approximately 4,945 tons of comprehensive humanitarian aid consisting of 2,185 tons of food baskets and flour, over 1,355 tons of relief materials and medical supplies, and more than 1,405 tons of petroleum products intended to power hospitals and vital facilities within the sector.
Furthermore, the Egyptian Red Crescent provided essential winter supplies including over 5,810 pieces of winter clothing and more than 17,285 tents to shelter those affected by the crisis.
The Egyptian Red Crescent has maintained a constant presence at the borders since the beginning of the emergency, affirming that the Rafah crossing has never been closed from the Egyptian side.
Through the tireless efforts of more than 65,000 volunteers, the society continues to operate its logistical centers to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid, which has now exceeded a total of 900,000 tons.
