YouTube plans to allow bloggers to earn on sales in Shorts by testing new commission schemes for bloggers who sell certain products using referral links integrated into videos.

The video-sharing company has not yet commented on the information

Last October, media outlets reported that YouTube is rolling out an update that will split your video content into three separate tabs; videos, shorts, and live taps.

The video tap is for long-form videos only, whereas the live tab is for past, current as well as upcoming live streams. Meanwhile, the short-video format is developed to compete with Reels.

Earlier, the Videos tab of various YouTube channels included all videos, shorts, and live streams under a single section. However, this confusing approach is now changing as the tech firm has started decluttering the videos tab by adding new sections for shorts and live streams on YouTube channels.

In the third quarter of (Q3) 2022, the revenues of YouTube declined to $7.07 billion from $7.20 billion in Q3-21.
